But among other oddities here is a list of a few other interesting things we found while cleaning up.
- Chicken Wish Bones (to have when the grandkids came - and my kids certainly remember pulling a wishbone with grandpa!)
- Two boxes of items labeled "To-Be-Fixed" from the 1970's
- 7 reams of cruise letterhead (not swiped from cabins, but still in shrink-wrap)
- a bag of real cotton - picked off the stalk
- frame holders from when he "bought the store" (story here: one day he went into a drug store that was going out of business. It was getting empty, but not quite there. Dad asked, "how much for everything else in the store?" The manager said something like $200. Dad said, "Sold!" So for the next few months he was always passing out things to anyone who came his way. He felt it was a blessing to share his great deal.)
- He loved clipping out newspaper articles, and sending copies to his family. He had whole boxes full of articles he had cut out.
- a trunk full of valuable antique cameras that he inherited from a friend that passed away
- boxes and boxes of old, empty HIPPA binders
- a duffle bag stuffed full of marathon T-shirts
- stacking paper trays - about 75-100 (we're not exaggerating!)
- File folders galore. He loved files, but in no particular order. When our family attorney asked about the most recent insurance policies, he asked, "Well, didn't your dad have a file?" We all chuckled. Oh yes, he had files! But where it might be? That's the million dollar question!
- brand-new medical equipment to test the oxygen levels in your blood.
- 15 boxes of silver supplements (want any to help purify your water storage tanks? I've got plenty here now at my house!)
- Bottles and bottles of supplements. He died a healthy man!
- bars of soap from his years of travel. He never had to buy a bar of soap!
